I have learned to appreciate even the small things like having clean running water, having a washer/dryer, having my kids kiss and hug me when they get home from school. The only things I really wish for is....
1) To someday be able to cut my hours or quit work all together to be more of a stay at home mome and not be such a tired mom
2) OH....and...I still don't have that refillable drink mug from the megaplex theaters. If I had that, my wish list would be packaged up all nice and tidy!!

Pumpkin Patch
Every year we go to the local pumpkin patch. We just love going there because it has a lot of fun things to do. It has lots of tractors the kids can play on, it has a corn maze which is made just for kids, and they create places that are perfect for pictures. Most of all the kids just love running around the pumpkins, trying to find that perfect one. We look forward to it every year!!

October traditions

I am so thrilled to the core!! Today is the first day of my FAVORITE month of the year!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE October so much; I love everything about it. In fact I love it so much, I always tried to have a baby in October and failed miserably (story for later).
My kids love October as much as I do. We have a really fun tradition which the kids look forward to every year. To kick off this awesome October and Halloween month, every October 1st we have a "special dinner" (which really isn't that special but the kids love it so who cares). Anyway, we have chili, breadsticks, apple cider, and doughnuts for dessert. After dinner we immediately go to the pumpkin patch where the kids have a blast picking out their own pumpkins, walking through the corn maze, and sitting on the big tractors posing for pictures. I buy my cornstalks and bales of hay, and then I am ready to break out the decor and build my Halloween porch!!
When the kids were a little bit younger, they thought this was so exciting and thought it was a real holiday, and asked every year why they had to go to school on October 1st. I thought that was so cute how this "special dinner" was so important to them. I love making family traditions with my kids; I know this one is a little silly but we love it and look forward to it all year!!

I love Fall!!
It is now officially Fall, my favorite season of the year! All year I dream of it being Fall. I love everything about it; how the air turns crisp, all the wonderful colors, Halloween, pumpkins, falling leaves, bales of hay, fixing homemade soup multiple nights a week..... I could go on for HOURS about how much I love this time of year. In anticipation of Fall, I decided to treat myself and the kids and start decorating the interior of our house for Halloween. I know Halloween 6 weeks away; definitely not very much time to get ready. We had a blast doing it! I promised my hubbs that I wouldn't decorate the outside of the house until October. So until then, we are really enjoying our indoor decorations!!
